Up until recently conquest was the human norm. If she wasn’t strong enough to defend it then it wasn’t hers to begin with.

Are you seriously defending the slaughter of millions of natives jfc

Yes, yes I am. Insofar as up until about last week Tuesday that’s how *all* societies functioned.

Ever wonder where the millions of black slaves came from?

Ever wonder where the meso-americans found their tens of thousands of sacrificial victims?

Ever wonder who Genghis Khan was?

Of course not. You were too busy hating white people.

Okay but…you are saying the atrocities these people committed were ok? The consequences these people are still feeling today are ok? I’m honestly lost on how you can view this dark time in human history as “justified.”

I’m not saying anything is okay. I’m saying that’s how the world worked. In many respects it still does.

However, the outrage being displayed is fake. It’s deceit. It’s a conditioned response.

I mean you’re really asking me if I think the horrible deaths of tens of thousands of people is “okay”? What universe do you even live in?

But do you see me gnashing my teeth and wailing into the stars over all the victims of Genghis Khan? Or Alexander the Great? Shaka Zulu?

Do you? Do you weep into your pillow at night over the atrocities committed by Vlad Tepes?

No? That’s strange.

My anger and outrage is reserved for the living, not the long dead. So if you find yourself becoming so terribly furious over such things it would be good to question why you feel such fury over ancient sins committed by people long dead upon people even deader.

Gotta say I agree with Cap (yup, line up to punch me in the face).

Genocide is not okay by any means (and no, Cap never said it was), racism and racist killing isn’t okay (Cap didn’t say that either so those accusations need to stop, he said nothing racist).

It’s just how the world has always worked. It’s shit, it’s bad, it shouldn’t have happened, but everybody who is becoming enraged over the native genocide probably HASN’T shed a tear over Genghis Khan’s victims, and they probably don’t even KNOW about Africans selling one another into slavery.

Like that one person said, “white people are used as a scapegoat”, and then they immediately proceeded to use whites as a scapegoat. “POC” have been enslaving and killing one another for a lot longer than whites have, and whites have been on the shitty end of that stick for a long time as well FROM POCs (historically throughout Europe and Russia).

If you’re going to get mad about someone saying “people were assholes and genocide shouldn’t happen., but that’s the way it worked back then”, you’d better be acknowledging that native Americans DID enslave one anotehr, DID kill one another, that Africans DID sell each other to whites into slavery, and that they STILL DO to this day. You need to acknowledge that human trafficking, slavery, and genocide is NOT A WHITE THING, it’s a HUMAN thing. We’re disgusting animals who take what we want without morals, that’s how it works.
Playing blind to “POCs” doing this shit isn’t helping matters. Stop using whites as a scapegoat.

This was interesting but I must agree. You have to unlearn how you’ve been taught to feel through vicariousness, others’ agenda and expectations, and learn how to feel and establish your own feelings through logic and reasoning. If you resort to blaming just because others are blaming, without looking at the facts, then you are just following a crowd and not thinking for yourself at all.

Notice how Russia was invading Ukraine up until a month ago, but tumblr didnt give a shit.

I never see Tumblr criticise the Japanese for their treatment of the native Ainu people.

Also do SJWs seriously believe the native tribes and civilisations lived in peace and harmony with one another until Whitey turned up?  I mean it’s not like the Aztecs conquered most of Mexico so they could have lots of slaves to sacrifice for their gods (the god of rain, Tlaloc loved child sacrifices that were crying, so it was customary for the priests to pull out the slave childrens fingernails so they would be crying for the gods pleasure)?  Where did they think scalpings come from?

What about the Manchu conquering China and setting up a series of laws that kept the Han Chinese as second class citizens at best in their own homeland?

Conquest is a part of human history.   Barbaric oppression of conquered people is not just the domain of whitey.

This post should be on everyone’s dash😐. Stop using Caucasians as a scapegoat.

this is fantastic now children in Puerto Rico wont be able to receive the education they deserve thanks to their messed up government

Its even worse than that. I’m living through it. Not only are schools closing, hospitals are collapsing. Only around 9% of the island has electricity and it comes and goes at times.

People are dying in hospitals because of lack of diesel for the generators, a lot of the water is now infected, there are disease outbreaks and scareceness of food. I am safe, but many are not.

Some have water, others don’t. We need help. Sending money would be helpful but what would help even more would be sending water filters, filtering water bottles, food, medicine, if somehow possible diesel.

All of you reblogging this news helps, but what we need is physical help. If you can’t, then spread the word, but God if you can send supplies… Please… PLEASE do. We are dying. Help us, help us save ourselves. Help us save our people. Help us save out ISLAND.

If you’re not in a position to ship or transport useful items to the island (which is sure as heck the case for me in New Zealand) then the best thing you can do is give money to a reputable relief organisation operating in the area.

“I was walking home from the paddy fields when I heard the sound of a bullet. A young boy fell right next to me. Then suddenly there were so many bullets that it seemed like rain. I ran straight to my house and told my family to run. I told them to run deep into the forest and I started grabbing everything I could. I tried to follow them but it was raining too hard. I kept losing my balance because I was carrying our bags. It took me an hour to find them. I was screaming their names like a madman. Finally I discovered tracks in the mud and found my children huddled in the woods, but my wife was not with them. Nobody knew where she was. It was too dangerous to stay so we had to keep moving. We walked for three days without food and water. The children kept asking for their mother, but I didn’t know what to tell them. I thought we had lost her forever. Finally on the fourth day someone told us they’d passed her on the road. They said she was alone and crying. We were starving and didn’t have the energy to go back. But our nephew volunteered to find her, and tell her that we’d meet her in Bangladesh.”

This week I’m sharing a series of first hand accounts from Rohingya refugees. The Rohingya are a persecuted ethnic minority who have been violently evicted from Myanmar by Buddhist extremists. Over the past year, nearly 700,000 Rohingya have been driven from their homes and are now residing in refugee camps in Bangladesh. Their living conditions are already dire, and monsoon season is approaching. As we share their stories, we are raising money to help build inexpensive bamboo houses for these refugees. (They are currently living in plastic tents.) Bamboo houses can be built for $600 a piece, and we’ve raised enough for over 1000 houses so far, but the need is much more. Fundraising to finish CalArts!

Hey everyone i’m Cindy! I’m currently a 3rd year student at CalArts Character Animation. As you may know the tuition is crazy expensive, so recently I started a fundraising in order to be able to finish CalArts.

Animation has always been my passion, and I would love to learn more at this school if I can…

Here are the films I made during the past couple of years:
1st year film: https://vimeo.com/163110999
2nd year film: https://vimeo.com/214428496

I’m currently working on my 3rd year film and I’m really excited to share it with you guys once it’s finished! And I would love to make a graduation film as well… if I can. That’s why I started this fundraising! BUT I’m not asking for help with nothing in return – I have prepared all kinds of cool stuff you can buy to show my gratitude!

The main product of this fundraising is a Taiwan sketches collection book.
This summer I went back home and did 100 drawings of my experiences in Taiwan and decided to print them into a book!

Here are some previews of the sketches:

……and 96 pages more all like this!!
And the book will be 14x14 cm big:

Beside the book, I also prepared a lot of other cool stuff such as:

But since I’m not an American, I can’t use kickstarter, so I’m using a Taiwan fundraising platform. If you are interested and want to buy my book (This is an exclusive, limited time offer!) ,here’s the website link, which is in Chinese:

https://www.zeczec.com/projects/taiwansketchartbook

If you cannot understand, don’t worry! I’ll guide you through the purchase process, step by step.
Open the page and follow my instruction:

First, you’ll see a video and a ton of stuff words and pictures on the left.

Well, it’s basically what I just said on top! So let’s keep moving to the right.

You’ll see a couple of boxes with prices on them. THEY LOOK SO EXPENSIVE WTF?! Don’t panic! It’s in TAIWAN DOLLARS!

Each box is a set of merchandise you just saw on top, let me break it down for you:

image

So after you clicked on the set you want, you’ll be redirected to a page like this:

image

Just sign in with facebook! Super easy!!

After that, you’re all set to make a payment:

image

Unfortunately the website only accepts credit card. If you don’t have one please email me at ddtzucin929@gmail.com and I’ll try to sort things out for you!

For those who own a credit card,
please remember to add the shipping fee of $250 Taiwan dollars!!

After you have clicked continue, it will redirect you to the payment page:
(Hang on! you’re almost there! )

After all this hard work… you did it!!

Thank you so much for reading and I really hope this fundraising can succeed.
There’s only 23 days left and I’m still at 63%… if I don’t make the goal I get nothing in the end ;_;
I really love making art. I hope that I can stay for my 4th year and even - possibly work in the industry in the near future.

Thank you again! For those of you who managed to read this far, here’s another gif of me eating and doing laundry! Take care everyone!

……and more art that’s yet to come.

please share if you like what I’m doing!! Thanks :D!!!

* After you signed in to the websiite  you’ll receive a confirmation email, but don’t worry about that!

I knew about Cindy before I actually get to know her. I’ve read some Taiwanese articles on Cindy, this Taiwanese girl who came to the US to pursue her passion in animation. Of course the article showed her beautiful artwork and talked about how talented she is, but more importantly, how hard she worked to achieve her goal. It’s always hard for a foreign student to adjust to the US. Think about it, you’re far from a land you grew up in, far from a language you’re familiar with, and you must leave all the people you hold dear to you behind. The living expense in the US is also way more expensive than in your native country, for every 30 bucks you make it only roughly equates to 1 US dollar, on top of that, it’s illegal for international students to hold jobs outside the school while they’re studying. A lot of international students had to drop out before they cannot complete their study, and it’s a true shame since most of them, at least the ones I know are so hard working and you can see they tried so hard and work tirelessly but in the end they had to leave the country. I am an international student myself, but I was lucky enough to have my entire family to support me through school, and I was again lucky enough to hit the requirements for my visa for me to keep staying in the US to hold a job I love. Cindy on the other end fought so hard to gain every inch she has. She worked as a TA in school because that’s about the only job an international student can have, she applied and received the tiny handful of scholarships that’s open to foreign students, and she’s set up animation/comic courses in Taiwan, made fundraisers to sell her sketchbooks and worked so FUCKING hard so she can keep studying animation here. And as she spend countless hours trying to earn her tuition, she didn’t neglect her studies, she made one awesome animation film after another, and you bet she got better every time.

The thing is, it’s real easy for anyone to say “Welp, that’s the price you gotta pay for being in someone else’s country.” or “Oh hey you’re already doing something you love so you shouldn’t ask for more”. And I want to be clear that I’m not saying this isn’t fair and we “deserve” better. It is true that the US has so much more resource and knowledge in animation than other places, and yes, I know we’re not from this land, so therefore we must accept the restrictions that’s given to us. But still, we want to stay here and learn more and absorb more, and offer what we have as well. That’s right, we’re not just taking away the resources, we are here to give something too. The animation industry strives on creativeness, and what better create ideas than people from different backgrounds constantly stimulate each other’s line of thought. Cindy has made films introducing the culture and the beauty of Taiwan with her fresh and unique perspective, and now she’s making sketchbooks to introduce more of Taiwan to everybody.  From her observation and delicate touch, she captures an atmosphere of our country, the everyday life of our people and the beauty of our land.

I really wish Cinday can complete her education in Calarts, not only because she had worked so hard for it, but also because I can’t wait to see what she makes next. So, if you’d like to help Cindy too, follow the instructions in the images and add a small donation to her project, you’d get a cute little sketchbook in return.

Hey what the fuck happened to all the net neutrality coverage

This shit is still happening people, and all of the sudden its disappeared from my dash almost entirely over night

I don’t know why, but I think people are automatically being unfollowed from the Net Neutrality tag. It happens to me every time I try to follow it. I’ll follow the tag, come back 20 minutes later & I’ll for some reason have unfollowed the tag automatically. I think this may be happening to a majority of people in an attempt to silence the resistance. Please take a screen shot of this post in case it gets deleted.

hey yeah can yall reblog this cause this is very important. Tumblr is ACTIVELY trying to silence out outrage at this by making us incapable of seeing coverage of events. We’re all gonna have to come together and step up about this.

Every little note counts, spread the word, dont give in so easily

I just checked this and i can CONFIRM that tumblr AUTOMATICALLY MAKES YOU UNFOLLOW THE NET NEUTRALITY TAGS AFTER 20 MINUTES

Please spread the word! Screen shot this post just in case it gets deleted!!

There is a reason that happens.  Tumblr is OWNED by Verizon who is a leader in throwing money at getting rid of Net Neutrality.  They have spent literally millions to bring it down so that they can charge you more, slow down your internet and block you from sites they do not deem appropriate.  Keep sending in letters, emails and making phone calls.  IF you post about it ADD links for FS!
